The 38th Annual General Meeting was held at the Chequers on the 25th April following their usual fine cuisine and was attended by almost 50 members. I must admit I was a bit concerned when they did the raffle before the start of the meeting proper as I had visions of people gathering up their prizes and making a dash before the boring bit. But no everyone stayed much to my relief.
Aside from the usual business of election of committee and approval of accounts there was a letter read from our President Norman who thanked all the committee and all others who do so much for the branch, especially the shop volunteers. Without whom the funds would not be so healthy. He sent his best regards and good wishes for a successful 2008.
A question of note to the Treasurer was why there was no donation to research in this years accounts – the reason being that the MS Society had changed the end of the financial year to October and our donation based on number of members fell outside of this date.
